Okay, now that the hood has a pair of Max Wedge style holes in it, we need to cover it with an appropriate scoop.
Original Max Wedge hood scoops were made of lightweight aluminum and Jim Kramer can sell you a beautiful reproduction if your wallet is deep enough. For us, a fiberglass replica – also from Kramer – does the trick.

The amazing thing is how the stock ‘63 Dart hood doesn’t hit the Max Wedge – even with the air cleaners in place! This means we can cruise the street with filtered air or feed the dual quads through the hood scoop by swapping to open velocity stacks at the strip. If we hadn’t eliminated the under hood bracing, none of this would be possible. Despite the lack, the hood is still very rigid.
