DRO AA/FC Challenge heads for Cedar Falls ‘Night of Fire’ this weekend

After beginning its fourth season at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in late May, the Mickey Thompson Tires DragRacingOnline.com AA/FC Challenge will return to its Midwestern roots on July 20-21 at Cedar Falls Raceway in Janesville, Iowa. It is the second race on the seven-event 2012 schedule.

After attending the Las Vegas season opener, two-time DRO Challenge season champion Paul Romine has retired from racing and is selling his “Man O’ War” Mustang. Romine won the Cedar Falls race last year, with “Rapid” Randy Baker as the runner-up.

Pre-entries for Cedar Falls include: “Rapid” Randy Baker in the “Sin City” Corvette; Shawn Bowen in the “Violator” Trans Am; Anthony Bronge in the “Punisher” Camaro; 2011 DRO AA/FC Challenge champion John Hale in the Mike Burkhardt tribute Camaro; Kevin Lennon in the “Shake ‘n Bake” Arrow (shown); Troy Ray in the “Wild Side” Charger; Mike Stallings in “Wheel Vintiques”; Brian Stewart in the “Bear Town Shaker”; Marc White in the “Flash Back” Trans Am; and Barrie “Bazz” Young in the “Down-Under Thunder” Camaro.

In addition, the Victory Performance Nostalgia Super Stock Series will also be in action at Cedar Falls. Many of the cars in this series are Chrysler brands.

Other dates for the Mickey Thompson Tires DragRacingOnline.com AA/FC Challenge presented by Comp Cams and Victory Performance are: Aug. 24-25 at Cordova, IL; Sept. 7-8 at Martin, MI; Sept. 22-23 at Tulsa, OK; Oct. 19-20 at Rockingham, NC; and Oct. 26-27 at Crofton, MD.
