SOX AND MARTIN DODGE STRATUS REVEALED

Buddy Martin and Bob Panella Sr. have teamed up with Monte Bailey and Mopar to make this Direct Connection between the racing history of the storied Sox & Martin team and modern drag racing competition. The car will make its debut at the 52nd Annual U.S. Nationals with Bob Panella Jr. as wheelman.

Panella Sr. brought the idea of competing at Indianapolis to Martin and Bailey, who quickly jumped on board. It was decided that three time NHRA Pro Stock Truck Series champion Panella Jr., would pilot the machine, which features Mopower provided by Larry Morgan Racing and Mopar Direct Connection.

Martin is thrilled to be a part of the team and is looking forward to returning to Indianapolis later this week, and this effort will not be a one race tribute.

“When Bob [Panella Sr.] came up with the idea to run the Sox & Martin tribute car, I knew I wanted to be a part of it,” Martin said. “I’ve loved racing and all of the aspects of the sport that I’ve been a part of. I knew that Monte and Bob’s operation would do things well, and I think a lot of them. I also had talked with Ronnie [Sox] before he passed away and seeing his excitement about the project made me want to be a part of it even more so. I’m looking forward to returning to Indianapolis”, said Martin.

On a related note, the The Ronnie Sox Foundation has been formed by Diane Sox and Buddy Martin to aid several of the late drag racer's favorite charities. Proceeds raised through this foundation will be donated in Ronnie's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Foundation and the National Prostate Cancer Coalition, among others. Anyone making a donation will receive a specially created "In Memory of Ronnie Sox" decal crafted specifically for the Foundation. More information on the next page....
