
At the 2008 Speed Week they ran just shy of the record at 206mph with the new motor. A lean mixture put some heat into the motor and there was molten aluminum as a result. Still, troubles aside, the 206mph was not a shabby number at all considering the only tuning they had was on jackstands at home. On the bright side they did run faster than a big block Chevy in the same class that was sporting a huge PSI blower. Now that they’ve got a little experience under their belts with the new engine, Jim, Phil, and crewmember Chuck Schiebeck will be back and the
record will surely fall to “Snyder’s Salty Cuda.”
