Over the years there have been numerous brake jobs. The driver bucket seat has been re-upholstered five times and the passenger seat once, but the rear seat is original. The paint is not original. “When I got it the paint was a medium green that we referred to as “baby-sh*t green,” Knight said. “I had it repainted using a 1985 Dodge green paint called Seafoam.”

Our pal Chase Knight behind the wheel. We tried to get him to do a burnout in the parking lot, but he wisely refused.

When we talked to Knight for this story the odometer had just rolled over to 491,000 and he figured that at the current rate he is accumulating miles on the Charger in about 15 months the odometer will roll over to the half-million mark.

What will he do then?

“I’m going to retire it when I get a half-million miles on it. Then maybe I will call the guys at Chrysler and see if they will do something for me on a new car,” he said chuckling. “I think that most likely what I will do is go down to the dealer and buy myself a new Charger with a Hemi in it.”

Mopar Max wonders what kind of trade in value a ’73 Charger with 500,000 miles on it has?
