Clutch dust spews out from under Hagenhoff’s “American Muscle” machine.

A Mopar racer also garnered second place in the series, Holt’s Summit, Mo., racer Jim Hagenhoff and his nine-second 1965 Plymouth named “American Muscle”.  Hagenfoff has owned and raced the car since 1986. He got to second place in points by going to the semifinals at the Muscle Car Reunion event at KCIR. He was just 20 points behind the series champ, Tommy Lee Mitchell.

Tied for third and fourth place were Mopar racers Clay Kossuth and the other racer with a nine-second car, Don Bruemmer. Kossuth drives a 1963 Dodge and Bruemmer a 1965 Plymouth.

Super Stock competitor Mitzi Herzing had a bad tranny failure in the first round of Eliminations. Here you can see her helmet hit the dash when the trans explodes and the car stops moving.
