Both Jim Pancake (near lane) and Charlie Wescott Jr. left the starting line together, but a swerving Jim Pancake ended up finishing the race in the left lane behind Wescott, giving the win to the Jesel-sponsored “War Fish”.

Charlie Wescott Jr. and Charlie Sr. (right). Charlie Jr. is headed to the Hemi Shootout final round after defeating Rick Houser in Round 2 and beat John Rains on a Red-light in the Semi-Finals.
He’ll meet Ohio’s Jim Pancake in the final with Wescott having lane choice.

Jim Pancake led at mid-track over Mark Vieira’s Hemi Dart, Pancake took the win with an 8.935 at 148.43 MPH over a slowing Vieira.
Because of an odd number of entrants in the Hemi Shootout, Pancake gets a bye run into the Final Round.

In the second round of the Hemi Shootout Charlie Wescott Jr. ran an 8.862 defeating Rick Houser who carded an 8.943.

Charlie Wescott Jr. moved on to the second round running 8.802 to David Rayburn’s 9.337 and will meet Rick Houser in the second round, Wescott Jr. will have lane choice.

Jim Pancake defeated Fred Hensen in the first round on a hole shot running an 8.897 and will meet Mark Vieira in round two.

Charlie Wescott Sr. defeated Jerry Jenkins in the first round of Eliminations. Wescott Sr. carded an 8.849 at 153.65 MPH and will meet low qualifier John Rains in round two. Rains had a bye run in the first round.
