Mopars Make Year One Meeting
As usual at nearly any general gathering of Detroit-bred collectibles, Mopars were in the minority at the 7th annual Year One Experience, held May 18-20, at Road Atlanta and nearby Atlanta Dragway. Still, there were several stunning examples of restored and modified Mopar muscle, both at rest and on the tracks.

Pentastar fans found plenty to get excited about at Road Atlanta, not the least of which was Year One’s own 1969 Roadrunner convertible, prominently displayed in its booth at the show-and-shine. Hi-Tech Engines stroked a 440 to 505 cubic inches and the “Coyote Duster” under the hood features custom-built electronic fuel injection. A manual five-speed transmission sends more than 500 horsepower to the 8¾-inch Mopar rearend stuffed with 3.90:1 gears and Baer disc brakes on all four corners provide plenty of stopping power. |
