Left: Team Mopar driver Richie Stevens Jr. qualified 6th in the debut of his new ’07 Stratus in Atlanta and went the farthest in eliminations for the Dodge Boys with a semi-final finish against Warren Johnson after disposing of Jim Yates and Jeg Coughlin Jr. in the previous two rounds. “We needed lane choice and we lost it by a thousandth in the second round and that's what cost us," Stevens said. "If we'd have been in the right lane we'd probably be in the finals.”

Right:
Rodger Brogdon missed the cut in Atlanta after running a best of 6.73 at 205 mph that was good enough only for 21st place.

Allen Johnson was the top Mopar qualifier, starting from the second slot behind Greg Anderson. Johnson went red by .006 off the start in the opening round, however, handing the win to Warren Johnson (no relation), who advanced through three Mopar opponents to reach the final round. |
Left: V. Gaines placed an impressive 7th in qualifying at Atlanta, but lost to a holeshot by close friend Larry Morgan in round one.

Right:
Pennsylvania’s Max Naylor also missed getting his ’07 Stratus into the raceday field by just five thousandths of a second, placing 17th after 28 cars made qualifying attempts.
