Edelbrock Victor II EFI Intake Manifold for Gen III HEMI Engines

The new Edelbrock Victor II EFI Intake Manifold for Gen III HEMI Engines comes with everything needed for install including oil filler tube.

 

The original Gen III 6.1 HEMI engine came with a beautiful, strong aluminum intake. But it wasn’t long before Mopar switched to lighter, cheaper plastic intake manifolds for most of the late model HEMI engines. For stock applications this is fine, for performance applications, not so much. Unfortunately, original 6.1L aluminum intake manifolds are becoming rare and hard to find. And if you do find one, expect to pay much more than you would like to.

 

The problem with plastic in performance applications is a lack of structural integrity under stress. If you want to add a turbocharger or centrifugal supercharger, you will always be worried about the plastic intake fatiguing and cracking. And God forbid you experience a ‘back fire’ into the intake.

 

Edelbrock has really stepped up for us late model Mopar enthusiasts this year (see our story on their new Gen III HEMI heads elsewhere in this issue). They have now introduced their Victor II EFI intake manifold for Gen III HEMI® engines.

Note the dual pattern air inlet, factory style 80mm throttle body or the 92mm Hellcat throttle body will bolt right on.

Note the nitrous bosses on the vertical runner to each cylinder, ready to drill and tap.

According to Edelbrock the new intake will clear most factory hoods without modification.

 

The Edelbrock Victor II EFI intake manifold (PN #7179) is designed for use with Eagle head Chrysler 5.7L, 6.1L and 6.4L Gen III HEMI engines with fuel injection. The overall design is similar to the factory 6.1L SRT intake manifold, but features relocated fuel injector bosses for improved flow. Nitrous oxide enthusiasts will appreciate the added nitrous bosses along the near vertical runners for each cylinder. The Victor II EFI also features a wider plenum than the stock 6.1L which yields more room for the 14" long runners for increased power. This design, along with the aluminum construction, makes this intake manifold ideal for supercharged or turbocharged applications where the OEM active runner-control is not desirable.

 

Other unique features include a front inlet has been machined to accommodate the factory style 80mm throttle body or the 92mm Hellcat throttle body with no adapters or modifications required. It also utilizes the 5.7L and 6.1L throttle body location and will fit all 2009-later Gen III HEMI engines as well as 2005-08 Gen III 6.1L engines. The Victor II EFI will clear most hoods without modifications. A -6AN fuel rail kit (#3647) is also required and sold separately. This fuel rail kit includes; rails, crossover line and hardware for a complete installation.
